Leah of the Pack

Hi and thanks for reading! When I first started this blog I wrote an introduction here but for recent  purposes I figured I'd give that intro a quick makeover.

A few things remain the same: I'm still Leah and I'm still writing but I'm shifting gears on this blog a bit to focus on my independent study for class this fall. As a journalism student I am always looking for real world writing experience or any writing experience in general. So while I'll continue to write posts similar to previous posts, I'll also be writing "articles" if you will, on the topics of my choosing to further enhance my learning. This blog is going to be a fun mix of buzzfed and news articles but a little less heavy on the hard news.

If you're thinking "why?," I am writing simply because in order to be a good writer you need to write! Does that mean I'm going to be writing in the future? Who knows, there are a million things I wish to do with my degree. I am currently pursuing a degree in communications with a triple emphasis in journalism, mass media and public relations. When I was younger I always saw myself as a journalist and while I still love writing, there are many other interests I have found in the realm of communications. I currently serve as the social media and marketing intern for UWGB Residence Life. I get to run all the social media for residence life as well as write blog posts for our website. As of this summer, I have gotten to be a part of the UCA Staff social media team which has been awesome. Working in social media after graduation would be a dream come true!

Now to the fun stuff.

I'm all about lazy Netflix days or spending the day getting a tan while reading a good book. I also enjoy spending money on over priced drinks downtown while having a great time with friends. I like a wide variety of music and I want to eat sushi 24/7. There are probably about a billion other things I could list here that helps define who I am but I'll let you figure that out for yourself!

Holy cow, I have been so incredibly busy. I'm not complaining though, being busy keeps me out of trouble. Not that I ever get into real trouble, more like it just prevents me from doing stupid things with my time, like binge watching the whole new season of New Girl in a weekend. Mainly I've kinda neglected writing here because I spend such a large part of my week writing for other things, the school newspaper, creating blog content for work, writing school assignments, whatever it may be. I'm learning to be a master at time management. Everyone always jokes that in college there is, as one of my professors would call it, a "sexy triangle", where you can pick two of the three: good grades, sleep and a social life. Whoever first made that statement was wrong. College is not a triangle, it's more like a polygon consisting of good grades, work, sleep, social life, athletics, family time and anything else that could possible be unique to you. And guess what, I plan on not having to pick a select few. Sadly, I have only take a few naps this semester but otherwise I'm busy almost 24/7 and I don't think I would have it any other way.

I survived the first week of classes and came to the conclusion that this is going to be one of the most difficult semesters of college yet. Between classes, my internship, countless group projects (the joys of being a Communications major), cheerleading practice, Packers games, and both men's and women's basketball games, I don't have time for any naps and I need to stay on my organization grind. Quick shout out to my planner for keeping my life in order. As a particularly motivated person, here are a few of my goals for this fall semester.

1. Get an AB or an A in all of my classes: I could shoot for the stars and try for solid A's across the board but by setting my standard at an AB or better I'll be happier in the long run when I reach that A and I won't be as hard on myself if AB is all that is attainable.

2. Get at least a 3.0 GPA for the semester: Or higher. I completed last semester with high honors and made the deans list (go me!) and am hoping to do something similar this semester. I think a 3.0 is a solid goal to work towards and if it's higher I'm not going to complain.

3. Make time for me: I'm kinda upset that I'm not gonna have anytime for a nap during the day but I'm going to do my best to at least set aside 40 minutes each night to watch Friday Night Lights which I recently restarted on Netflix.

4. Cheer: I always have cheer goals. First I need to make sure I can still throw all my running tumbling. Then once that step is complete I need to throw a layout on the gym floor during a game because I still have yet to do that after tearing my ACL/meniscus during a game almost two years ago. I also want to get a full up and a toss lib with my awesome stunt partner.

I probably have at least 5 more mini goals for this semester, but these are the big four. Here's to hoping I can accomplish them!

Of  course high school and college are on complete different levels. While high school was a good time, nothing compares to what awaits you at college. Here's a quick break down of some of the reasons you won't find yourself wishing to go back in time to high school.


Classes
In high school class was mandatory. You couldn't take a personal day or just flat out skip it when you overslept. I mean, you could but if you missed class too often there could be dire consequences. The beauty of college is if you don't want to go then you don't go. Although the professors do care about you, if you skip one... or 10 classes they probably won't do anything about it. Also, you're never stuck with that mundane  everyday schedule. Not having a science class five days a week rocks.

Second, for the most part no one cares if you're on your laptop or phone. If you're gonna be a huge distraction be polite and sit in the back row . But otherwise if you want to waste your time and money by sitting on Pinterest during the entire lecture then you may! In HS it seemed like the second a teacher saw a phone you got a warning or worse- your phone was held hostage by the teacher for the rest of the day. Guess what, you're in college now so suddenly you're an adult able to make capable decisions such as when it is the correct time to bust out the technology.

Class selection in college is the bomb.com. While there are certain Gen Eds you are required to take you are offered a multitude of classes to fulfill the requirements. After that all your classes pertain to your interests and your degrees. Honestly, I look forward to going to classes that are for my degree. Mainly because Communications/Public Relations/Journalism is the greatest major in the world but also because there are classes such as Social Media Strategies- school and twitter? Count me in.

Clothes
*Before I say anything, let me make it known that I will almost always dress to impress because it makes me feel good. With that being said, in college no one really cares what you wear. Sweats and yogas are the norm so you don't need to spend hours planning out an outfit. Sweatpants and a tee are fantastic because chances are once class is over you're gonna roll back into bed and take a much deserved nap and now you don't even have to change your clothes. If you want to dress up (which for some reason in college means jeans...) go for it. People will probably assume you have a presentation.

Food
College cafeteria food is better than high school food, easily. Is it as good as home cooking? Of course not but you do have a much wider variety. Most people that I know did not have the option of off campus lunch in HS. In college you can leave campus whenever. If you're campus is located around some amazing restaurants.. erhm.. Chipotle... then you are so very lucky.

Rumors
In high school, rumors can spread like wildfire. Of course rumors might get out in college but no one really care because chances are you won't even know the person the rumor is about.

The Past
The kids you went to high school with have known you for awhile. They might remember all the stupid mistakes of your past and won't let you forget. The best part of college is that no one knows about that embarrassing time when you fell down the stairs in front of the whole sophomore class or whatever dumb things you have done previously. Embrace this new start. If you want to redefine yourself then now is the time.

From loathing your 8 am, to late nights with some of the greatest people you'll ever meet, enjoy every second of college.

College is one of the best times to meet new people, the social game is going strong. You're used to going to school with familiar faces and suddenly you're thrown into the chaos have having to meet new people and make new friends, how fun! Regardless of where you go to school, there are a few characters that you're likely to meet that first year of the greatest years of your life.

The Awkward Hello
Maybe you met them drunkenly at a party or they are the sister of your best friend's roommate's cousin, either way you are aware that you're acquainted but you're not sure how. Could you recognize them immediately in a crowded hallway? Probs not but as they walk closer you suddenly begin to identify some kind of connection with the face. The end result is that awkward hello in passing. You know, where you stare at each other for about a half second too long to decided if you know them and barely manage to squeak out "hi!" because you don't want to seem rude if you don't acknowledge their presence. Ahh, the awkward hello, there will be plenty of these the next four years.

The I-Know You-From-The-Facebook-Group
The University of XYZ Class of  20whocares Facebook Page: the perfect way to get to know your future classmates. Looking for a roommate or not sure how big of a futon you can bring? Go to the Class Of page and ask away. But there's always that one kid who over steps his boundaries on this glorious form of social media. He (or She) posts about once a week, perhaps it's a question or it's whatever YouTube video he finds funniest that week. Your own posts aren't safe - he'll comment on them all. Somehow this kid seems to know all the answers or so he thinks. He'll most likely go through the page and add you all as a friend. And the fun doesn't stop when school starts! You can find him commenting on all the posts on the confessions page or posting weird things on the Class Of page. When you see him around campus you and your friends will refer to him as "so and so, from the Facebook page" Be Aware.

"Does anyone want to come hangout with my boyfriend and I? He is in town visiting me and we're bored." No joke, this or something similar was posted on my own Class Of page.

The Gets-Me-Alcohol
So many underage, thirsty freshman dying to make Welcome Week live up to Project X party standards. What do they do? Befriend someone to get them alcohol. Maybe it's a older sibling or friend, or you got lucky being group mates with a senior that takes pity on you. Either way you're indebted to them because without them your wine nights, thirsty Thursdays and all those night you'll never remember couldn't be made possible. You should really write them a thank you card.

The Teammate
The greatest thing about teammates is that they are built in friends. Even if you don't like them suddenly you have someone to sit with in the cafeteria to save you from looking like a loner. Teammates can make the best of friends. Not only do they know the struggles of a regular day of classes and exams but they understand why you need a 10 hour nap after that seemingly endless practice. They'll let you vent for hours about your coach without complaining because chances are they feel the same way. What's that you say? You don't play a sport therefore don't have any teammates. Join an intramural sport. It's the same concept with the added bonus of not having to compete for that number one spot. Go team!

The Orientation Friend
Not going to lie, orientation can be painful without a friend. Most of the time you're divided into small groups to maximize the idea that you need to make friends with all these new strangers - play nice! If you're lucky you'll find that one stranger that doesn't seem as strange as everyone else and befriend them for the duration of orientation. You'll get that awkward introduction out of the way and bond over how bored you are. Friends forever? Maybe. Even if the friendship only withstands orientation you'll be glad to have made that connection for the time. Maybe it will turn into that awkward hello.

The Neighbor
Ahh neighbors. They're the ones who will be pounding on your door at 3 am in effort to have you turn down your music or the ones you'll be pre-gaming with before a night of too much fun. Neighbors can become fast friends. You'll see each other every day in passing and during the awful mandatory hall meetings. Befriend your neighbors. If they're as cool as you it's guaranteed to be a good time.

The Lone Classmate
Stuck in a boring Gen Ed class without any of your friends can really suck. There's no one to laugh at Pinterest with, no one to fill you in with what happened when you dozed off and no one to form a small group with. Pick your seat wisely if you're alone in a class. Whoever is sitting next to you (because most of the times we all return to our "usual seat") is now your new best friend for the class! Will you hangout outside of class? It's unlikely but for the next hour and twenty minutes they are all you've got.

Mr. Know It All
There is always one person in class who just knows every answer. In fact, they might not even know every answer but they deeply believe that they do. They are always willing to share an irrelevant, personal story to the class even though no one gives a shit. They are also the same one that tries to tell a stupid joke... such as in biology freshman year when a girl raised her hand and asked if we could all sing the bone dance from Hannah Montana. No we cannot, shhhh. Part of you will be grateful. Their constant raising of the hand saves your ass from answering a question that you zoned out on. But the constant chatter of their voice will drive you insane. It's even worse if they're in your major because then you're bound to have at least one class a semester with them. Make the best of it. Take a tally every time they speak for each class and at the end of the semester find out their average amount of time spoken in class. Then laugh about it.

Friends, acquaintances, foes, whatever these people end up as you are pretty much guaranteed to meet all these people at college, enjoy it.

A common thing most college student hear is that being away at college makes you appreciate home and being home makes you appreciate being away at college. Well, being away at a different college makes you appreciate your college even more. After spending some time on a different college campus I realized even more some of the reasons why I love UW-Green Bay. 

• Don’t stress over everything. It wouldn’t be college if you didn’t have at least three papers and a group project all due within the same week. It’s stressful, there’s no doubt about it. It’s easy to find ourselves crumpled in a ball, lying in our beds, near in tears thinking about all we have to accomplish in such short time. Instead of worrying over everything, it’s best to take a step back, take some deep breaths and focus. Makes lists and you will conquer. Write down all that needs to be done and rank it by order of importance or what is due first. Blare your favorite focus music and just get it done. The less time you spend worrying and the more time you spending doing, the happier you will become.
•  The power of a good workout goes a long way. When you do find yourself stressed to no end, take an hour to go to the gym. Hop on the elliptical or run out your frustrations. With power music blasting through your headphones, only focus on the now. Let your mind and body be encompassed in the workout. When you’re done you will feel dead tired, yet rejuvenated and less stressed out.
• We all make stupid mistake but realize it is ok, it happens. Learn from these mistakes so that they don’t happen again. They can be the most important lessons.
• Surround yourself with the best people for you. If you are a negative person, don’t hang out with people that are only going to bring you down. You need friends that will show you positivity and bring out the best in you.
• Realize you are your own source of happiness. Stop with the negative thoughts. It can be really hard, but a positive outlook goes such a long way. If someone is dragging you down, let go of them. You don’t need negativity in your life.
•  It’s okay to want to drink away your sorrows. Sometimes it feels like the best escape seems to be forgetting the world by sharing more than a few shots with your friends.  It’s ok to escape stress by drinking your problems away with your friends as long you as remain responsible. Don’t be afraid to have fun as long as you know when to quit while you’re ahead.
• Be independent. Go out and join new clubs or activities by yourself. You don’t need to be with your friends 24/7. You would be amazed at all the people you can meet when you’re not constantly with your friends. Don’t be afraid to meet new people. A potential new friend is always near. 

With classes ending for me on Thursday, words cannot explain how much I am looking forward to this summer. I have so many great things planned I just know it will be a summer for the books! Here are a few of the reasons I think of to help me get through finals.

1. UCA Staff Work Week: I leave for work week on Sunday and I am so thrilled and nervous and excited. I'm headed to Mississippi for training and I already can tell it is going to be such a fabulous experience, being surrounded with people who have as big of a passion for cheerleading as I do! Heading to the MidSouth I know the talent at work week is going to be out of this world, I hope I can hold my own and represent Wisconsin well. I've been working hard all month long to get the material down! The only thing I am really unsure about is what to wear for the last night, which has a Kentucky Derby theme, because I know I won't be able to fit an amazing derby hat into my carry on.

2. Cruise #9: Well I think it's my ninth. Cruising is our family's favorite type of vacation, always a Disney Cruise, and this year we are headed back to St. Thomas, St. Maartin, and Disney's private island Castaway Cay. Although I've been to these destinations before I have yet to be on Disney's new ship, Fantasy. This vacation has been booked for a year and a half so I have been anxiously counting down the days for awhile. Soaking up the sun with family is a great way to kick start the summer!

3. UCA Staff: I am pumped to begin my summer teaching cheer camps with UCA! It finally felt real after receiving my box of staff uniforms in the mail and learning all the material. Working for UCA is like dream and is such a wonderful opportunity. I can't even begin to explain how excited I am.

4. Social Media Internship: When not busy teaching cheer camps, I'll be back in the bay for my new internship, running the social media for our campus' residence life and housing. I will miss being at home for the summer but I also get to live with one of my very close friends who also has a summer internship in Green Bay. Lots of memories are sure to be made.

Besides these big 4, there are plenty of other reasons to be stoked about the summer!

• Sunshine: Welcome back a nice deep tan, I've missed you! 
• Good weather: Wisconsin has been slacking in the nice temperatures lately, hopefully summer does not disappoint 
• No School: Goodbye homework! 
• Fun with friends
• So many other things! 

Yesterday was a perfect day for a birthday. The sun was shinning,the temperature was nice, which is super rare for Wisconsin right now, and I got to spend it will my wonderful friends. I don't know why but birthdays always make me realize all the special people I have in my life, so to all, thank you for taking the time out of your day to send me a sweet birthday wish and to go out and celebrate with!The best part is my friends made each of us our own cake which is really just the nicest thing ever. t was easily the best part of the day. I am truly lucky to have such great friends. Anyways, here's some pictures just because.

With my birthday being tomorrow I've kinda been doing a lot of thinking about this past year. It really was one fabulous year, many great unforgettable times, awesome new friendships and basically no "ragrets", not even one letter! 19 was a year to remember. But the one things I will change during my year as a 20-year old is to not always feel the need to make other people happy if they don't bring me any happiness in return. I don't mean that in a selfish way. What I do mean is if a person can be counted on to bring more pain than happiness to your life, then they don't deserve a spot in your world. That is what I'm going to focus on in this coming year, because after all we need to create our own happiness and by getting rid of those who don't bring joy then we will be doing so!

Anyways, to commemorate the past year, here are some of my favorite moments of being 19.

 The most amazing trip to Florida with my cousin, aunt and sisters.

So many great things come along with the arrival of spring and one of those are cheerleading tryouts! There is nothing more nerve wracking or exciting as tryout time. I've been to my fair share of tryouts in my current 10 years as a cheerleader and I have picked up many tips along the way. These are in no particular order of importance!

1. Be Outgoing: As a cheerleader, you will be asked to volunteer at many different events, so having a good presence during face to face conversation is important. One way to show that you have a fabulous personality (which you do) is to make friends during tryouts. Don't stand in the corner, go out and get acquainted  with the other girls! Having a few friends during the tryout process will help calm your nerves and it also shows your potential new coach that you are super friendly and are great at getting along with others. And who knows, you might find your potential roommate or future best friend - I did!

2. Look The Part: The coaches and judges are not only judging you on your skills but also taking into consideration how you will reflect the university or school. Make sure to wear your school's colors or school's apparel! When it comes to hair and makeup, don't go overboard with makeup. You want game day makeup: a little mascara, natural eye shadow or a natural smokey eye, a little blush and a touch of lipstick is a must! Nude lip gloss always looks nice but I always get a little added boost of confidence from wearing some pink or sometimes red lipstick.

3. SMILE: A smile goes a very long way. You want to look like you're happy to be there. Always smile, even when just reviewing the material. A good, enthusiastic expression will set you apart from all the other cheer hopefuls. Also, during the actual tryout in front of the judges if you mess up just smile! My freshman year of college cheerleading tryouts I messed up the fight song so badly. I forgot half of it and ended up just standing there, smiling and clapped it out. The smile on my face showed that I was able to stay calm in case I ever messed up in front of a crowd. If anything fails, remember to keep smiling.

4. A Positive Attitude: Tryouts are always stressful because you are learning new material, some of it may be things you have never done before. Remember to stay positive if you find yourself getting frustrated. No one expects you to be perfect when you're learning. And if someone does offer you pointers, always be polite, never snippy!

5. Show That You Are Coach-able: The coaches and judges know that some of this may be new to you but they want to see how you learn the material. Be open to suggestions such as trying a new stunting position. When someone gives you constructive criticism remember they are only saying it to benefit you so reply with respect. Don't have a boatload of excuses such as "but I've always been a top girl" or "I only tumble on a spring floor."

6. Throw Skills You Know You Can Hit: This is so important. Even if every single girl is throwing a standing tuck, but you can only do two standing back handsprings, or a back tuck where you touch down 80% of the time, always throw the skill you can to without error. Now is not the time to throw a skill you just first landed a week ago or to try something new. Throw what you are 100% confident in. Also, whatever skills you demonstrate at tryouts you will be expected to have for the rest of the year. If you don't plan on keeping a skill then it might not be the best idea to showcase it at tryouts.

The main things: be confident, smile and have fun!

The end of the school year is easily the most stressful time of the year. There are group meetings to be had, presentations and speeches to be given, and endless note cards to be made. I'll be the first to admit that I lose my mind with all the stuff I have to do before the semester ends. Here are my suggestions on how to survive finals. 

During your time in college it will be near impossible to make it by without being in at least one group project. While I don't mind working in groups, sometimes you get a group that just makes you lose your mind the whole semester. I've come to learn that while each group is different, for the most part each group has people that fulfill certain roles. If you can't think of the group member that could be one of these roles, chances are it's you!

The Group Leader: It takes a special kind of person to take on the task of the group leader, or project manager. This person is organized, focused and knows how to get shit done. If you are elected as group leader it also means there is a 90% chance you'll be doing the majority of the project. Be ready to do your work + all the work the slackers didn't feel like doing. Even if you're positive that your group mates will pull their own weight, trust me, this project will basically become just yours. Everything falls on you, so make sure to keep calm and wait for group member rating day so karma can do it's job.

The Slacker: There is always the slacker, the one member that just cannot for the life of them do any tasks, even the simplest ones. There is always an excuse to why something can't be done. If they do manage to accomplish something, chances are they've done it all wrong. Of all the people to be, the slacker is the absolute worst.

The One Who Always Misses Meetings: With everyone having such unique schedules, finding time for groups to meet can be very difficult but it usually works out. But there is that one person that never shows up. Despite all the reminders the skip every meeting. Maybe they were napping, or perhaps they forgot but regardless of the excuse they never show up.

The Speaker: There is so much appreciation to be had for the speaker. They are the one you can count on to nail the presentation by wowing the professor with their stellar speaking skills. Mostly likely they will do a large portion of the actual presentation but they don't mind.

The Writer: With most presentations there is a paper involved. It seems like many college students absolutely loathe writing, so when you find a group member that enjoys writing you know you've found a gem. If no writer can be found you can bet that the group leader will be in charge of putting together the paper. Oh the joys of being a leader...

The One Who Gets By: This person contributes, but just as much as needed to be considered a somewhat important group member, but not enough to be a large contributor to the success. They fly under the radar by not really suggesting ideas but for the most part doing what is assigned to them. They show up for the presentation dressed in their business casual outfits, doing a minimal talking part and then write their small section of the paper. There can be multiples of these in every group. They seem unimportant but overall they are a influential aspect of your team because they do as their told and can usually be counted on.

Not every group will be made of all these characters and in some, many have duplicated. Other groups may have types of people not mentioned here (The One Who Shows Up To The Meetings Drunk - but that's a different story). Either way they keep your college group work experience interesting.

A few hours ago I was just offered the position of Social Media Assistant for my campus' office of residence life and housing. I am so ecstatic! Duties of this job include managing social media accounts, blogging, assisting in taking photos and videos and more responsibilities that I am confident I will excel at. I had a good feeling about the interview but I was told I was the unanimous choice and the main standout candidate which makes me beyond happy. I probably smiled for an hour straight after I got the call. The best part about this internship besides getting to do the things I love to do, is that I can use it to count towards my credits for graduation which makes this position such a great opportunity! I have been so lucky job wise these past few weeks. I cannot wait to start my new position!

Tis the season to be interviewed! With summer jobs and internships looming many people are setting out on interviews- including myself! Here are some tips and things I have thought of that can help with the interview season.

1. Dress to impress: You want to be taken seriously, so it's important that you dress the part. Dress, skirt or dress pants for the ladies, and always a tie for the men! With such weird spring weather we are having choosing an outfit can be difficult. One thing to always remember- wear tights. Another thing to consider is dress for the position you are applying for. For most interviews business casual is what is expected but if you're applying for a store at the mall, dress in the style that they sell so that the interviewer can really see you in their brand, trying to sell their product. Remember the golden rule: look good, feel good, do great.

2. Don't be nervous: I know what you're thinking, easier said than done, right? But there is no real reason to be nervous, you're just talking to people, something you do every day. One thing I always tell myself before an interview if I'm feeling nervous is that I have done things scarier than this before.

3. Eye contact is key: When I'm talking to people, I always notice who makes eye contact or who looks away. Someone that can hold your gaze during a conversation always seems more engaged and confident. If you can keep eye contact during an interview is shows that you're not nervous and it sets you apart from other applicants.

4. Make a resume ahead of time: If you have to submit a resume before the interview or have to bring one with you, make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to get the task done. The last thing you want is to turn in a resume filled with silly mistakes. Be sure to have multiple people check over your work to ensure that you've got it perfect.

5.Be yourself: Don't try and change you image just so you seem to fit the company better. Be yourself and they'll love you for that!  Remember, nobody does you better than you can.

April shower bring May flowers but April also brings along the housing lottery, which means you have to figure out your housing situation for the upcoming school year. Everyone who is re-contracts to live on campus gets sent a number, the lower the number the earlier you have to pick your housing. According to your number you also receive a set time to go and actually choose and register your housing choices. Seems like no big deal, right? Not this year. Normally you have your usually room of four that you tend to keep as roommates for your whole college career but this year we have a group of five trying to get into one of the few five bedroom apartments on campus. Freshman year we had heard about these apartments, thinking they were an urban legend of the UWGB campus, no one really talks about them and they aren't advertised. This year we have done our research to find there are only four available. All we can do before losing our mind while anxiously waiting for next Thursday to arrive is to hope that those with lower numbers than us (hello 547!) have no idea that these apartments exist.  May the odds be ever in our favor. 

Hi! I'm Leah and I'm going to be using this as a way to write about my life, mainly cheerleading experiences for the rest of my college career. I have a different blog dedicated to a different style of writing, but I wanted a place to write about my college experiences and show a more relaxed style of my writing, so Leah of The Pack was born. To start out here is a little about myself.

1. College: I am a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin- Green Bay, where I am majoring in Communication with an emphasis in Journalism and Public Relations. I love writing. Journalism has been something that has always interested me and I look forward to learning more about writing as well as broadcast journalism during my time as a student.

2. Cheerleading: I have been a cheerleader for nine wonderful years and I have learned so much more than I had ever imagined. I started on our community's rec team in sixth grade and went through our middle school and high school teams. I am currently a member of the UWGB Phoenix cheerleading team, which has been amazing because in addition to cheering for our university's basketball teams we also get to cheer for the Green Bay Packers! Also this year I am a UCA rookie staff member. I cannot wait to start my summer with UCA!

3. The Future: There are so many different things I see myself doing in the future. I think it would be so cool if I could share my passion for cheerleading through my writing by working for a cheerleading magazine such as American Cheerleader or Inside Cheerleading. Otherwise I would like to write for another publication. I also am interested in broadcast journalism. Being a TV news anchor or a talk show host would be a awesome job. Or running social media for a big organization, or working in PR for a large company, there are just so many careers I am interested in, I can't wait to see where life takes me!

Even if this blog never gets read, I am excited to write about my life because it's a great way to keep track of all the adventures that life takes me on. Thanks so much for reading.
